NO:1 - What is Physical Theatre ?

Theatre which grows from gesture rather than word. We believe all theatre is, by definition, physical.

Total theatre which mixes multiple theatrical styles.

Bretton Hall College, Ecole Jacques Le Coq, Central School of Speech & Drama, R.E.S.A.D Madrid, Dartington College, Hamburg Theatre School, Middlesex University, York University, The Drama Studio.
NO:4 - Who & what inspires your work ?

DV8, CandoCo, Pina Bausch, Forced Entertainment, Robert Le Page, Derevo, Slava Polunin & Robert Wilson.Early 20th Century Russian theatre, in particular Meyerhold & Mayakovsky, Grotowski, Artaud and Beckett.Also multi-disciplinary performance, visual art, music & the world at large.
NO 5 - How do you create your work ?

We work in a very collaborative way, devising & improvising using pictures, music,current affairs, newspaper cuttings, spacial environments, personal experience, the written word & other sources.

Movement based theatre workshops based around themes of One - (the Other) or Perfect run by Emi Slater and/or performers from the company includes work on devising techniques, making theatre choreography, personal character work & non narrative theatre, including voice technique (Kristin Linklater) and mime (Le Coq & Marceau) if appropriate.The aim being to enpower the participants to feel able to express themselves through their own devising and to pass on skills which enable them to do this.As well as exploring the themes of our shows, sharing our ways of working and passing on inspiration.
